It appears to be a normal business relationship, however due to the uncertainty dealings, it is established to the readers that there is a complex relationship forming between this two characters. “… I cannot come down now as I am tied up in some very important business and cannot mixed up in thing now.” It is an example of the complex relationship explores in the novel. Wolshiem and Gatsby are business partners, nothing more. They only have the relationship on business, nothing more Although Wolshiem has some respect to Gatsby, and he does not want to have further relationship with Gatsby, like friendship. In the letter Wolshiem wrote to Gatsby after his death. It gives the reader a clear image that Gatsby’s death causes a big trouble on his benefit. This restate their business relationship is under board. It shows the how complex is the relationship between them. The most confuse relationship in the novel is included three characters Daisy, Gatsby and Tom. This is the most confuse relation that I have ever read. Daisy and Gatsby was couple before Daisy married with Tom. Daisy and Gatsby met during the First World War. Every soldier in the infantry was in love with Daisy because her beautiful appearance. However, Daisy loves with Gatsby. “That was nineteen-seventeen…. get into the army at all.” After the war, Daisy married with Tom and has their little girl. “… the next April Daisy had her little girl.” After some time, when Daisy meets Gatsby again, her feelings of loving Gatsby appear in her mind, again. Daisy is unsure which one she is really loves to. “…I did love him once, but I love you too.” She is confused about her own feelings. She wishes not to hurt either of them. Daisy wants the best of both worlds. She wants what both men can offer her. The reason why she marries Tom is because Tom can give her class, money, success and social acceptance. “ She wanted her life shaped now… of love, of money, of unquestionable practicality…” These things are which she desires.
