...ed. How did I get the church to make the marriage invalid and none existent? To invalidate the marriage I rose up charges against our marriage saying that the papal dispensation that Katherine and I were married was illegal. The pope would do nothing to my advantage so I went to my new minister Thomas Cromwell. He got together the Anticlerical Parliament and drew up the Supplication against the Ordinaries, a long list of grievances against the church, although the pope refused to give way on the divorce issue, he agreed to the appointment of the kings nominee, Thomas Cranmer. And he of all people pronounced my marriage with Katherine invalid. (King of England) Anne Boleyn, my second wife, and I were secretly married while the whole process of the divorce from Katherine was going on. We were married on January 25th 1533.(Six Wives) Things were going almost great. We were having several children but again only one survived, Elizabeth. One night we were having an argument and I being the stubborn person that I am, had Anne sent to the tower. I also ordered her to be executed, on the grounds that she had committed adultery and incest, so I felt that she wasn’t worth my time. Jane Seymour, the woman I truly love, was my third wife. I always get emotional when I talk about her. We were married on May 20th 1536. Our time was run short together because Jane died during childbirth, but during that childbirth she gave me the male heir that I always wanted, Edward. Anne of Cleves was my fourth wife. We were married three years after Jane died, on January 6th 1540, in the Greyfriars Church in Greenwich. (Six Wives) During the three years I was enjoying life with my son. My two daughters, Elizabeth and Mary, were kept away from me in other royal palaces, for obvious reasons. We were not even married a half a year. The reasoning behind this is simple, she wasn’t good enough. I was in search for a new wife and suddenly I was sent a royal portrait of a young princess which portrayed a beautiful young woman. Without delay I sent for her and we were married when she arrived. The portrait however was very much different from the real woman that I married. So, I divorced her. She isn’t up to my standard. I was also upset at Mr. Cromwell. He was the one who wanted me to get married to Anne. He wanted himself to become an ally with the German Protestant princes. I didn’t like this too much. I had him beheaded. (Six Wives) My fifth wife was a flirt. Her name was Katherine Howard. We were married in the Hampton Court Palace on July 28th 1540. (Six Wives) I don’t have much to say about her, mostly because I didn’t care much for her conduct. We weren’t married two year when I had her beheaded. The reason is simple; she was so much of a flirt that she had many affairs with other men in the cou...
