Julie and the wolves

... wolves made and began to learn. Miyax discovered they sound of hungry in wolf talk and tried many times before she had any response from the wolf leader, Amaroq. He had ignored her for nearly a week before he finally accepted Miyax. She finally received meat from the wolves and was accepted as part of the wolf pack. As Miyax lived in her small hut, she tried to figure out a way to point her in the direction of San Francisco. She found herself starring at the open tundra leading in every direction to absolutely nowhere. All she could do was wait for the bird season to come in order to follow the directions of the birds. She continued to receive meat from her wolf family but knew that she couldn’t rely on them forever. Miyax continued her journey as the bird season finally came. She walked the direction the birds flew toward in hopes of finally finding San Francisco. As she walked on the tundra, the wolf pack was following her because they felt as if they had to protect Miyax. She soon sensed that a village was near but as soon as she came closer, a helicopter flew by. They were hunters. Miyax, in her large Eskimo jacket ran for cover for she could be mistaken for a bear. Gunshots were fired and a low howl shook Miyax’s body. Amaroq was killed; he was killed trying to take care of Miyax. Miyax realized that she didn’t want to be apart of the civilized human life that did this to her Amaroq; she didn’t want to take part in the savage ways humans took the lives of innocent victims. Miyax didn’t want to return to that life so she turned back around and walked back into the deserted land. Miyax spots human life for the first time in months. A man, women and child were on dog sleds going past her. They stopped and Miyax offered her hut for them to rest and eat. They humbly accepted and for the first time in so long, she heard the words of English being spoken to her. The women mentioned Kapugen’s name and Miyax found out where her father was living. The next day as the small family left, she packed her things and was off to find her father. She stepped into the village her father lived in and almost instantly knew which house was her fathers’. She knocked on the door and for the first time in so long she faced her father. They both stood there gazing at each other before embracing. Miyax’s journey finally paid off and she was finally home. She always kept Amaroq in her heart for if it wasn’t for him, she would never have never been able to find her way home. Analysis Miyax faces difficult situations that most thirteen year olds would never have to face; she is lost in the deserted tundra’s of Alaska.
