.... For each screen of notes, I will ask one person a question for 5 Extra Credit points on their note assignment. Assessments: - After 10 days of IDs, I will collect the IDs. - I will collect and grade the filled in notes based upon correct and answers and spelling. - Periodic verbal checks during notes for extra credit. Standard: 10.6 Students analyze the effects of the First World War 10.6.4 Discuss the influence of World War I on literature, art, and intellectual life in the West (e.g. Pablo Picasso, the “lost generation” of Gertrude Stein, Ernest Hemingway) Objectives: 1) Students should be able to identify the new ideas that revolutionized science and thought. 2) Students should be able to describe the literary trends that emerged in the 1920s. 3) Students should be able to explain how women’s lives changed after World War I. Schedule: 7:20- 7:30 Students work on their ID for the day while I take attendance. The ID for Tuesday is Ernest Hemingway. They fill out a short form with basic information of who the person was. 7:30- 7:35 Students take out their planners and write down the homework for Tuesday night (p. 358 #1-2). 7:35- 8:05 Power Point notes. Students will have a copy of the notes with blanks. They need to fill in the blanks as I go through the notes aloud.
