Morehead has not only tackled the orthodox romance genre but has also done the same to the surfing arena, by suggesting that the female youth is an exceptional surfer due to the males reluctant body language towards her when she arrives at the beach. Another interesting part of the text is the ending as Morehead choses the youth to follow the girl. This shows the reader that he has matured since the beginning of the text as we get the feeling he has accepted her as a person and surfer.
