Women suffering from the disease are often over achievers, their perfectionists personalities is often blamed for their condition. Bulimia leads to several health complications, such as; erosion of teeth enamel and tooth decay, dental cavities and swelling and soreness of the salivary gland due to the mouth’s repeated exposure to the acidic, gastric acids of the stomach and repeated vomiting; raptures of the stomach and oesophagus; stomach ulcers; abnormal build up of fluid in the intestines; electrolyte imbalance; dehydration; irregular heart beat; heart attack; decreased libido; and suicidal behaviour. Bulimia is often hard to identify because persons with this dies tend to have normal body weight and may even be over weight also purging is often done in secret.
