Either you’re a boy, girl, man, or woman, evil can take take us over if we choose to make immoral actions. Hitler and Jack have similar qualities that are evil. Jack in the book has the group of hunters. Ralph wanted them to gather food but all they wanted to do was to kill. They both get the excitement of death. “If you’re hinting sometimes you can catch yourself feeling as if…you’re not hunting, but being-hunted; as if something’s behind you all the time in the jungle pg. 53.” Hitler had his group of hunters but they were called the Nazi Party. Hitler's Nazi party captured 18% of the popular vote in the 1930 elections. In 1932, Hitler ran for President and won 30% of the vote, forcing the eventual victor, Paul von Hindenburg, into a runoff election. A political deal was made to make Hitler chancellor in exchange for his political support. He was appointed to that office in January 1933. Paul von Hindenburg died August 1934 and Hitler became his successor. Hitler had one man in his way of domination and it was Hindenburg. Since he was gone, their was no one to stop him. Jack had one person stopping him after piggy died and it was Ralph. All Jack wanted to do was to get rid of Ralph and be able to be the leader and chief. When the conch was destroyed, Ralph’s authority was all gone. He had no control of them and they all went crazy and fell into the leadership of Jack. “See? See? That’s what you’ll get! I meant that! There isn’t a tribe for you anymore! The conch is gone, I’m Chief pg. 201.” Simon is the innocent character, sort of like a religious figure. William Golding was a Jew and had religious beliefs that he described in the novel. Simon is similar to Jesus.
