It is a problem that has and will continue to affect us all, whether we are civilians or law enforcement officers. Simply look at a local newspaper or any police-related publication on any day and it will have an article about a police officer that got busted committing some kind of corrupt act. Police corruption has increased dramatically with the illegal cocaine trade, with officers acting alone or in-groups to steal money from dealers or distribute cocaine themselves. When police powers are considered too excessive things like police corruption happens and the society has no one else to trust and no body to turn to and this causes them to fight against society. Police powers become excessive and they start to take advantage of the law. There have been too many stories of people being abused by police, too many to tell to one person. But some events are accidents and police are forced to use excessive force to arrest the person or to prevent them from creating more of an intention to harm. Police powers need to be experimented with from the statists of police crimes and police corruption. Even to change some of the things police can and can’t do for instance if they should be aloud to gain access to property that has been used as evidence in cases.
