The tension effected the learning environment for the children .It also made it impossible to accomplish anything as a team. Team work is key in a montessori classroom. Teachers work as one to obtain a common goal. There classes usually consist of several teachers in an open are teaching different subjects. If you bring a teacher into the classroom who wants to do it her way and not the montessori way it will cause conflict in the classroom. Which in return will effect the learning environment for which the children have come to know and obey. You will have many angry parents when they find out that the children are not learning anything at school due to one teachers individuality issues. Individuality in elementary school teaching is a great way to express your own teaching method within your classroom. Teaching your own way maybe beneficial when trying to teach a hard to teach student. Bringing your own ideas into the classroom adds uniqueness and character to who you are as a teacher. Children in elementary school respond well to creativity and other teaching methods. Although teaching by the book may be good for a few students, it isn’t always good for everyone. I feel you should treat every child as an individual and you yourself should be different that the other teacher. Remember you want to make an impact on the children so they actually leave your class with the knowledge they have acquired. High school is all about become your own person. By the time your in high school you are so bored with sitting in a classroom day after day listening to the same lecture based system. I can remember one of my own teachers in high school who went above and beyond to try and help us understand economics. He used his own ideas and methods of teaching, went out of his way to bring in supplies which he bought for our class. He subscribed to the L.A. times for everyone in the class so we could learn hands on about the stock market. We would come in, pick up our newspaper and then was given time to scan through it. This taught me a lot because I could actually see what he was talking about. I think that because of his own ideas our class as a whole learned a lot more that the other economics classes.
