From an outside view, many would define his life as the American Dream. In the story, Gatsby showed his own point of view of an American Dream. For Gatsby, he had to use his wealth and power inorder to achieve his happiness. his Dream was to win back his only love through his wealth and power. He did not care about the parties he hosted, nor that he was well known to the community, his dream was to have Daisy back in his life with his use of his wealth and power. The parties he hosted, the rumors of his reputation, his name greatly known to the community was his plan to somehow bring Daisy back to him. Eventually he got connected with people who attended his parties such as Nick Carraway, which lead him back to Daisy.
