...When the kids get together meeting at the platform and vote for the leader they pick Ralph so Jack becomes angry, deciding to do whatever he wants and not to follow no ones rules. After a long time of being on the island and not getting his own way, Jack makes a choice to gather up all the kids that don’t want to follow Ralph’s rules and they move to the other side of the island and start their own settlement up on the mountains forming the “hunters” while Ralph stays with his group living by the beach. Jack and the hunters just hunt and have fun all day. Beginning to turn into total savages not caring about killing. With no concern for anything, Jack and some other kids decide to steal from Ralph’s side of the island. Jack’s wrong decision and hunger for power causes two deaths by the end of the book. When one of the boys, Simon finds out that the “Beastie” is really just a dead parachutist, he comes running back to the camp to tell everybody.
