In the world today, there is a strong emphasis on new and important agriculture biotechnology, discussing it’s legal and social impacts. Organisations and councils are starting to rave against predictions of genetic information, saying these tests can harm individuals. These organisations believe the development of genetic tests will have an expansion on social costs, insurance, education and employment discrimination. Some councils also state that genetic information will be generated more quickly than our social systems can handle, meaning it won’t develop fast enough to protect the privacy of certain people. These are opinions of people who oppose genetic research, but many others believe that this would be an excellent impact in society. Being able to change infants genes to make them healthy and more fit to live, would be a great step in helping individuals with diseases to be accepted in society and not be discriminated against. Not only would their be more people with less defects, it would help them live a normal life, which might have not been possible without genetic altering. The real situation is that, biotechnology will keep increasing and will eventually be ready to modify babies, increasing the chance of making a “perfect” world.
