Whenever she was mean to the “not so cool kids” or anyone that she just didn’t like, everyone seemed to think that it was hilarious. Chaz was looked at in the exact same way as Katie. He was the all star football, basketball and baseball player, and looked gorgeous with his dark brown hair and ocean blue eyes. Chaz also could get away with anything he said or did; everyone just accepted it because he was their idol. The two of them together ruled the school. One day while Doug and Nicole were sitting at lunch together talking, Nicole saw Chaz and Katie walk by. She commented on how hot she thought Chaz was and how much she wished she could look like Katie so that she could go out with him. Hearing that come out of Nicole’s mouth made Doug really angry. “How can you say that? Why would you ever want to be like them? All they do is go around showing off to the crowd of people following them like they’re some kind of celebrity. Why would you want people to only like you for your looks and never for the person that you really are? Even if you tried you wouldn’t ever be like Katie your to much smarter. That’s why I don’t hang out with those people and don’t try to be popular!” said Doug frustrated. “Well at least you have the option to be popular if you wanted! Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to have more than just one friend. Just because you said that I couldn’t be like Katie, watch I’ll prove you wrong, I’ll be even better than her!” exclaimed Nicole. All of a sudden Nicole turned from being quiet, sweet and caring about school work and her family, to outgoing, rude and not caring about anything. The only thing that she did care about was making Katie look bad and making Chaz like her. Nicole stopped talking and being close to her family too, she ignored all of Doug’s calls, wouldn’t talk to him at school, and she decided to try and become a cheerleader. No one was excepting Nicole though and she couldn’t figure out why. Nicole went to the salon and got her cut and dyed to fit the newest fashion and she started wearing make-up, which she didn’t even own before. It seemed like no matter how hard Nicole tried, still no one noticed her. When Chaz would walk by Nicole would say “hi” and try as hard as she could to have a conversation with him, but he just looked at her and walked away.
