...his Time period definitely launched a growth with sex in a society. It seemed like Sex was always looked at as something that was good for the spirit. Or at least the Egyptians thought so as well. They felt sexuality went hand and hand with ones spirituality. They were a very sexual society and believed that through an Egyptian god masturbating it created the land. It’s a funny way to look at creation; though i’m sure the Egyptians related it to the understanding that ejaculates create life. The Egyptians had strange sexual methods as well. From the mutilation of a mans penis, if he’s caught committing adultery, to the alligator dung that somehow detected pregnancy. And though alligator poo hasn’t been approved by the FDA to detect pregnancy, we see the first sign of retaliation for those that were unfaithful. This is common today with both sexes just not to that extreme. Prostitution was forming as well, probably the earliest form of it. Now I can truly understand why it’s the oldest profession. Sex was becoming more of a personal pleasure and something of leisure. That’s probably why in the Chinese culture the men had more than one wife or concubine. Though that is everyman’s wish in our times it was a reality for the Chinese. Religion was a key element in there sexual culture as well. Confusnism which stressed the importance of prolonging the family. This reminds me of the war circumstances my grandfather told me about, that fueled him to build a large family. Too Daoism, which looked at sex as an element that prolonged life. Which I found strange, because a Chinese man who didn’t ejaculate while having sex somehow prolonged his life and increased an attribute. I doubt that really would prolong my life.
