The significance and construction of the family unit is shifting and developing. Throughout the years, the ideal family depiction has slowly undergone modifications in which family values and religious beliefs have been altered. From the blended family of the Brady’s, to the nuclear Osbourne household, significant changes are evident. The bulk of humanity is rejecting and denying that the family as a social unit is ruined. ... The double-income family consists of both parental forms working, usually requiring the smaller children to be taken care of by a nanny, and the adolescents to begin fending for themselves. ... There are many families who find the interest and desire to have that special “Hogan family dinner,” or go on the weekend camping trip, however with the kids’ gymnastics and soccer, and the parents’ meetings and events, there is just no time.
