... three e-business models share. First and foremost, it is the business itself. The core of business must present and it must include processes, procedures, information or knowledge, and infrastructure. Every business must utilize one or more of these essential parts to deliver a product or service. Second, all three entities have a group of target customers that they want to serve. Third, they all use the Internet technologies as a vehicle to communicate and provide their target audience with the services or products they create. Third, they utilize different features and functions of the website to effectively reach their audiences so that their services and products would reach more consumers and thus their business longevity is maintained and/or profit is maximized. Last but not least, all entities tailor their e-business model to best respond to the need and expectation of the target audience. They all exploit strategies to penetrate the marketspace to attract past, current, and prospect consumers. Fifth, each e-business model is set out to benefit both the entities themselves and target consumer groups. The entities benefit from brand-recognition and reputation. Consumers benefit from the services and products they obtain from the sites. Despite similarities these e-business models share, they all possess many differences that greatly distinct themselves from one another. Above all, the target audience of these entities is dissimilar. Victoria’s Secret focuses on retail customers, mainly women but sometime men. Some of its functions include online ordering, shopping bag, customer service, and send the wish-list email to family and friends. Jumbo Enterprise is much simpler both in design and functionality. Jumbo website gives customers mostly general information such as the company overview, contact information, product description and picture, email capability so prospect and current customers can inquire about products they are interested in. A very unique feature is the font size, which allows elderly users to switch to a bigger font view since elderly normally have vision problem. Other features include elderly services, news and views, policy & legislation, calendar and opportunities. Some of the functions include the map locator, email and correspondence, and links to other agencies. The business models are significantly different due to different target customers they are servicing. Victoria’s Secret uses several ways to reach its buyers: paper catalog, referral websites, and search engine.
