My initial impression of Walter Lee's character was self-centered. This was my initial expression because of his vast obsession with his plan to make money and ignorance of what his wife's side. He constantly fights with his wife and they barely even communicate due to Walter's narrow point of view. Later in the film, when Walter's mother spends most of the insurance money that Walter was anticipating, he becomes very hostile and feels that she stole her future.
