The Similar Lives Between Eveline and James Joyce

Frank invited Eveline to join him on a permanent trip to Buenos Ayres, even though her father did not want them to see each other. Eveline wanted to get away from being disrespected, her job, and also being the care taker in the house. She feels trapped in Dublin, like she has a reason and an obligation to be there because of her mother=s death. Eveline had to think very hard whether to go with Frank or not. James Joyce met a lady name Nora Barnacle who later became his wife (internet1). Before Joyce was settled down with Nora, he traveled all over, and he was known as Anomadic.@ He traveled from Dublin, across the continent, and then settled in Paris in 1920 (internet1). Since Eveline decided not to go with Frank, she did not have an epiphany, and she went back to being the woman in the house that takes care of everything. The most difficult situation that any human may face is the loss of a parent, or other sibling. Eveline was close to her mother because they were the females of the house, and they could understand each other. Her mother had a terminal illness and was laying in a Adark secluded room@during her last surviving days. Eveline was very upset when her mother died because she felt Asafe@ around her.
