I think that both the mass media and our education system do not keep us in the dark at all. I think it is quite the opposite really. Mass media shows us what is happening all over the world, as well as in our own area. Imagine a world without media. We wouldn't know about September 11, 2001, and the whole world would not have come together to pray for the people who lost their lives. We would have no idea about the war against Iraq. On a smaller scale, imagine their was a serial rapist terrorizing Meadowvale. Without the media, we would have no idea, people would be walking by themselves at night, people in ground floor apartments would continue to leave their windows open because Meadowvale is generally a safe place to live.
