Love
..., closeness, fascination, exclusiveness, sexual desire, and intense caring. Two types of love that are typical are passionate (or romantic) love and companionate love. Passionate is a state of intense absorption in someone that includes intense psychological arousal, psychological interest and caring for the needs of another. Companionate love is the strong affection we have for those with whom our lives are deeply involved. It is believed that passionate love, based on a human bio physiological system shared with other primates, is a powerful emotion that can be both blissfully positive (when love is reciprocal) and despairingly negative (when love is unrequited). Companionate love, on the other hand, is achieved only between partners who are able to positively reinforce each other's intimate behaviors. Although most people hope to combine the delights of passionate love with the security of companionate love in a single relationship, actually to do so may be impossible. "Attachment" refers the powerful desire to be in the other's presence, to make physical contact, to be approved of, to be cared for. "Caring" is the willingness to sacrifice oneself for the sake of the other person. "Intimacy" is the union and bond between these two individuals. Positive emotions are caused by ones thoughts. They are both triggered by one’s thoughts and programmed by one’s thoughts. Only understanding can trigger an emotion. To understand the emotion process dealing with love it is best to divide into two separate but connected categories. Love includes fondness (a quality proceeding from feelings of affection or love) and infatuation (an object of extravagant short-lived passion). Joy (something or someone that provides pleasure; a source of happiness) includes Bliss (a state of extreme happiness), Contentment (happiness with one’s situation in life), and Pride (unreasonable and inordinate self-esteem).
