If these people were to find out about the outside world they would surely rather not be there, so they must be left in the dark for their well being, but the rest of the world must not be forgotten completely… On the 11th birthday of every citizen there is a ceremony in which they are told what their careers will be. Everyone receives a normal job, except for Jonah. Jonah is awarded the very important and very secretive job as giver of memories. Jonah is told about all of the things that happen outside of the little bubble they live in, all the good and all the bad things. He is to keep all the knowledge to himself and never leave. This begins a very rapid change in Jonahs perspective of life and the way he’s living it. Now imagine that you’ve lived with no knowledge of anything other than your little utopia for 11 years, and suddenly there’s a whole other very different world out there. How would you react?
