...cipline, but they can be one positive contributing factor to discipline and safety. “Violence,” which has nothing at all to do with the uniforms, no matter how people dress they will get judgment from peers. Such as, hairstyles, hair color, height, weight, accessories (necklaces, watches etc.), odor (type of perfume/ cologne etc.), the way one walks, or even smoking habit. When everyone is used to seeing the same people or look the same everyday then they will end up not knowing how to deal with anyone but the people that they went to school with. They also think that uniforms will help with tardiness because there is no picking through all kinds of clothes to decide what you want to wear that day. Instead, with the uniform you have an even bigger problem, just because the cost is so high. The cost for uniforms can easily exceed $250.00 dollars for three days worth of clothes of just school clothes. In other words, it could be possible if absentees rose, because students run out of uniforms. Somehow, this is supposed to be a good thing like these new clothes will make everyone safe. Well, if these uniforms would keep everyone feeling safe inside of the school, then that is great. How could you feel safe wearing them outside? Seeing how there has been at least one report per state of a student admitting that other gang members had questioned them. Because, they thought that, they were wearing those colors as a gang.
