The continuous and accelerated progress of knowledge has also made it possible for social developments to base on massive industrialization of goods, progress in means of transportation and communication, expansion of urban areas. In addition, knowledge makes some unimaginable wonders imaginable and even possible. Without knowledge man can not explore the outer space, conquer the deserts. Without knowledge man can not eradicate smallpox, cholera and some other diseases. With out knowledge man can not survive in this “man killing” world. What we call “modern civilization” Is surely the result of accumulated knowledge and its applying to practical Life. On the other hand, as is so often pointed out, knowledge is a two-edged weapon which can be used either for good or evil. President Kennedy said:” The world is very different now, for man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life.” Knowledge comes into being with many inborn social problems. Some problems can be seen quickly, such as weapons. Others can not be realized until many years later, particularly in terms of the quality of the environment. One example is that the growing list of chemicals and food additives may cause cancers. Sometimes, some knowledge seems useful but dose not in fact. It can even do harm to the society.
