abraham lincoln

...as it was. Lincolns approach to slavery seem racist at times and his progress on saving the union were hard, being at war, keeping the union together, and at last issues dealing with slavery and their rights were all on Lincolns agenda. By 1863 the union was winning the war, having one less problem cleared Lincolns Agenda. with congress behind him Lincoln enacted African Americans as a priority to congress, a move that prove valuable to many lives. A new day for the country were blacks have rights thanks to a un-racist president. For a president such as a Lincoln having to take control of the union were the norm was established and it included slavery in every corner of the country, mostly in the south because the south was different than the north specially in the way plantations were run, that set the two apart the most. From the beginning Lincoln opposed slavery Gonzalez3 although it was the norm and knowing that his belief were going to affected the south the most, Lincoln saw a opportunity for change . The change was notice after the civil war started, and the army recruited blacks for the first time , that meant things were changing, although the war wasn’t fought for moral or ethnic issues I supposed , whites weren’t about died to because of black and how they felt but if the union won the war it meant what was normal then is not now. Lincoln gave slaves a sense of a new start, if they supported the union and fought against the south they’re life’s were going to change, in such ways were blacks can now start families, live with out a owner, and most important become citizens with right and that’s something that you wouldn’t normally see before Lincoln became president. The constitution of the United States was written in 1787 and didn’t take effect till 1789. At that time no one would of imagine the changes that the Union will undergo to become united as one country. Before the emancipation proclamation, rights were mostly for whites. Even if a slave had a child of a white person, the child was still considered a slave. Before Lincoln slaves had no future in sight when it came to freedom. The Emancipation Proclamation was a major document in American history. Slavery was an Gonzalez4 issue in the time of the civil war. The document gave new freedom to slaves not share with the ones in the south. Having African Americans fight against the confederacy gave a the union an edge, before the document was signed the north had little success in the battlefield, but there after the union took control and the war had a new dominant leader. The Emancipation Proclamation was not aimed at freeing all slaves because if so that meant the border states would have had to free their slaves. The north depended on these border states specially since the capitol of the confederate states was in a border state. I believe the moral cause was the biggest reason the north won, a cause to fight and win over a government that treats blacks worst than animals was not destine for victory....
