Hamlet is faced with many obstacles and can not figure out how to respond to them, he allows himself to give in to the evil and that where his failures begin. Hamlet is faced with indecisions when it comes to seeking revenge on his father’s murderer. Hamlet’s reaction is a murderous action in stabbing Polonius. This is an important representation of his inability to coordinate his thoughts and actions, which might be considered his tragic flaw. In his passive, thoughtful mode, Hamlet is too weighed down by moral considerations and uncertainties to avenge his father’s death by killing Claudius, even when the opportunity is before him. But when he does choose to act, he does so blindly, stabbing his anonymous “enemy” through a curtain. It is as if Hamlet is so distrustful of the possibility of acting rationally that he believes his revenge is more likely to come about as an accident than as a deliberate act. When Hamlet notices Polonius’s body, Hamlet interprets his wrong within the terms of payback, punishment, and vengeance. “Heaven hath pleased it so…To punish me with this and this with me” (III.iv.157–158). However Hamlet has not achieved his vengeance upon Claudius. Hamlet thinks that God has used him as a tool, for retaliation to punish Polonius for the sins he has committed and to punish Hamlet’s sins by staining his soul with the murder.Hamlet is miserable, bitter, skeptical, and full of hatred do to the fact that his mother has married his father’s brother. Hamlet also has a lot of animosity for his uncle. This all leads to his failure and lack of success when it comes to seeking revenge on his father’s killer. Hamlet makes many wrong decisions that affect his life in an irresponsible way. When he finds out that he has killed the wrong person he is a shame of his actions. If Hamlet would have found out the trust instead of assuming that Claudius was behind the curtain he would have never killed Polonius. All the failures that Hamlet has faced are due to the fact that he is not content with himself inside and out. Towards the end of the play his mind remains doubtful ...
