Secondly, the seriousness of the problem in quantity of teachers and their teaching quality should be alarmed by the public. For examples, “the ratio of the teacher to student is 1:16.2 , less than that in USA 1:14.2 and the average ratio of world 1:14.4” What’s more, “in some specialties such as computer, engineering in western and central part of China the ratio is surprising 1:80”. The inevitable result is that many professors don’t have enough time and energy to teach and have to ask their graduate students who may not be well-qualified to replace them. It is reported that “1/3 of professors and 1/5 vice professors in 71 universities which are directly controlled by Ministry of Chinese Education don’t take their duties of teaching properly”. As a result, the problem is very serious. Therefore ,solving the problem of the lack in teachers first, and students could get better education next.
