Even artists, for whom the emotion and feeling are more factors to create artistic creativity, must learn theories and techniques applied to their craft whether it is music performance, dance or acting. As for the development of the society, the functions of intellect also could do neglected or ignored. Discovering the unknown areas rests on the intellect. Mechanization, resting on knowledge innovation and intellect to large extent, makes the people from the agriculture society into industrial society in which work efficiency tremendously enhanced and live quality of people significantly improved compared with the agriculture society. Computer and network technology push our society into the Information Age, change our method of lives and job and even establish network culture. All these illustrate the point that our society development and individual success rely on the intellect ability to some extent. De-emphasizing intellect could carry negative, even dangerous consequences for any society. The dangers of a de-emphasizing on the intellect are all too evident in contemporary China. The incidence of hate crimes is increasing at a startling rate, gang warfare is at an all-time high, drug problem and morality degradation seems to be exasperating. Moreover, taken to an extreme and on a mass scale, appeal to the emotions rather than the intellect has resulted in humanity’s most horrific atrocities, like the Jewish holocaust, as well as in nearly every violent war ever waged throughout history.
