Issues Related to Returning to School
...re employment is concerned. I am hoping to discover a career that is right for me while in school. I believe most older returning students tend to have a goal then decide to return to school. I did the opposite. Recently I have set my goal to get a degree in Business and Administration although the degree may change. I believed returning to school was financially impossible for me at this time. I would need to take out a loan, which is not an option right now, and pay someone to watch my daughter while attending classes. I never considered an online university until I received a call from the University of Phoenix. I am fortunate to have recently switched companies and my new company is very pro-education. My company issued me a corporate card to pay for my tuition and books, providing I pass. If I do not pass, I will figure out how to pay for school when that time comes. I like the fact that taking online classes also prevents me from paying a babysitter. Lastly, returning to college scares me for fear of failure. I am a firm believer in finishing what one starts and could kick myself for not staying in school earlier. I remember taking a FORTRAN class in junior college and getting a “D”.
