Therefore, children are not made to socialized to fit the society built up by their ancestors; rather, they have their own right to decide how they are going to socialize with others. The proper thing we, as their elders, should do for the children is to offer them varied opportunities allowing them to have enough information to make their own choices. As I mentioned above, we should build up an environment to let children learn freely; as a result, only when our society is sound and healthy can we be assured that children are able to grow up well and socialized well. So I agree that the destiny of society is really important; however, we should not rely on children’s socialization to determine the destiny of society; in fact, it is an undue statement that how children are socialized determines the destiny of society. The destiny of society, which is determined mainly by us the elders, is also influenced by many other factors than children’s socialization, such as economic situation, technology development, and population as well. The Depression in 1929 is an example which shows economic situation affects greatly on society; during the Depression, unemployment high, thousands of enterprises bankrupted, cities were rife with crimes and suicides.
