Philmont New Mexico
...ort. From there we boarded a plane to land in Denver Colorado, and drove to a near by hotel to spend the night. The next day we drove for 8 hours on a coach bus to arrive at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. This was just the beginning of a long journey that would change my life forever. We loaded up our hiking packs, camp gear, food, and other essentials we would need for this well prepared trip. As we began our first day on the hike myself as well as many of the other scouts felt extremely confident, and well prepared. The next seventeen days were the most amazing days of my life, each day experiencing things I would never imagine and seeing sites I never thought existed. Each day we would experience new things such as gaffing up trees, rock climbing, shooting arrows, throwing tomahawks, and crossing tracks with the wildlife. I encountered grizzly bears, rattle snakes, scorpions, and brown recluses the most poisonous spiders on earth. The most memorable experience was climbing the Tooth of Time.
