There has been much speculation about the source of the smile on the Mona Lisa’s face, which was surely the result of Chiaroscuro Leonardo’s interest in the effect of natural light and shadow on the subject. This work expresses  the complete example of two techniques chiaroscuro and sfumato together by Leonardo. Sfumato is the transition between color areas, generating a delicate atmospheric haze, which come more to life especially in the delicate robes worn by the Mona Lisa.
