Importance of Reading: Experience
...ing with books for kids, my passion for books grew stronger as I realized reading fulfilled my curiosity. My passion for reading continued as I went to middle school. By then, I was reading novels by such authors as Stephen King, Michael Crichton, and others. In fact, the only time I ever got in trouble in school was in 8th grade when my Art teacher reported me to the principal’s office for having a copy of ‘Catcher in the Rye’ by J. D. Salinger. My punishment was suspension from school for one day. Once I went on to high school, my busy class schedule did not allow me to read books on my own. However, that did not affect my passion for reading. Being an Electrical Engineering major, my curriculum did not allow me to take many reading classes in college. The only course in which I was required to read was in World History, and World Religions philosophy.
