The primary purpose of this class is to provide a class as the capstone of your business degree where you display and integrate all that you have learned in the business program. Thus, after a review of some conceptual material (some of it new but much of it should be review) the focus of the course will be the analysis of firms and their strategies. Expect to spend 4-6 hours each week to prepare. It is suggested that you read each assignment at least twice and then study for a possible quiz. You may be called upon in class to analyze a case. If you are unprepared you may be embarrassed and make a bad impression. If you are the first student to be called on to give an overview of the case this is especially important. The first student called on "sets up" the direction of the discussion. You may only have one or two opportunities to do this during the semester. You will be expected to write two major papers and make group presentations. STOP! STOP! STOP! HEED THESE WORDS! 1. IT IS OK IN THIS CLASS TO DISAGREE WITH YOUR PROFESSOR!
