The sex offender had moved in with his sister just a few trailors down from her. He nor his sister had reported to the authorities that he was there and that he was a sex offender. Jessica and her father and grandparents were innocent victims that should have been given this information. The people of that community did not know that a dangerous person was living amongst them. They did not realize that their children were not safe. Jessica's father has went before the florida lawmakers again and again hoping to get them too tighten the states pedophile laws. This month his persistence has finally paid off. On may 3rd the florida lawmakers passed a package of laws named for Jessica Lunsford. Govenor Jed Bush signed these laws on that day.
