Biography on the Ibo’s
The Ibo tribe originated from Nigeria, in an area one hundred miles north of their current location at the confluence of the Niger and Benue Rivers. The Ibo people speak the language Igbo (Kwa) and have a population of eight million. This tribe of people is a large but widely spread population that inhabits both sides of Nigeria River. ... The earliest surviving Ibo at forms are from the 10th century (Igbo Ukwu) and the fine quality of those copper alloy casting suggest that Ibo society had already achieved a level of technology.
It is claimed that the Ibo are a lost tribe from either Israel or Egypt, though the traditional homeland of the Ibo people lies in the southeastern part of Nigeria near the Niger River and Cross Rivers State. ...
