Disney movies are usually colorful and musical. Some characters from “Cinderella” were either not mentioned, were replaced by different characters, or were described differently. In the movie, a fairy godmother was the one who gave Cinderella her beautiful dress, instead of the tree on her mother’s graveyard, as described in the original story. The stepsisters were described as being beautiful in “Cinderella,” while they were ugly with unpleasant voices in the movie. Both stepsisters were evil in the movie, but in the written story, the younger sister had a little sympathy for Cinderella. In the original story, the party at the King’s palace lasted for three days, but in the movie it was only for one night. The most important of all the differences between the two versions was the part when the stepsisters tried the slipper on. In “Cinderella,” the stepmother gave her daughters a knife to cut off their toes or heels to make the slipper fit their feet. In the movie, the two sisters tried to make the slipper fit their feet, but there was no knife or blood.
