By no means have they been common animals, in many people’s eyes, but cute creatures being willing to interact emotionally with human and offer unconditional love and affection. In a word, they are irreplaceable component of our life. Moreover, animals aid in relaxation and reduce people’s anxiety. Fierce and endless competitions, ever-rising price of consumer products, combined with relatively unstable economic environments contribute to high stress and excessive workload in the case of working people. Among various means put forward to relieve the anxiety, petting an animal is considered as the most effective mechanism to calm their mind down because one’s vigor is restored after such soothing activities. For example, watching fish in an aquarium is found to be as effective as hypnosis in lowering the level of anxiety. The advocates for prohibiting pet ownership (like Mr. Wang) may either argue that animals could carry pathogenic bacteria and virus or hold the view that they may pose threat and cause physical damage to citizens’ life. However, it seems they neglect the fact every pet, regularly, is obliged to receive check-up in case that they may contract the diseases, consequently, there is no point in labeling them disease carrier if the check-up is authentic.
