... never forget to say “I love you“ for it is the main feeling of the speaker. The speaker also says in line 21, “and let you warm yourself by this fire.” The fire is symbolizing safety and comfort. The speaker will let the person be warm by the fire to make the person feel safe and have comfort with the speaker. In the last stanza, the speaker talks about the poem and how it’s the only thing the speaker can give. The thing he can only give is love. The love which is everything. It gives the feeling of comfort, safety and the feeling of being loved. The mood of this poem is the feeling of love and security. The poem shows how much love is and how important it is. In line 19-20, the speaker says “come knocking, and I will answer, give you directions.“ What the speaker is saying here is that when the person is lonely or all that person needs to do is go to the speaker and the speaker will give the person love.
