...y which the choir boys have to endure. In the book, Simon did not talk to the “Lords of the flies” which were the pigs head and that is when he finds out about what the beast really is. But in the movie, all he did was glance at the pig’s head for a few minutes and then left to tell the others which will make a turn for the worst. It’s important because the pig’s head was supposed to make Simon realize that the beast was closer than expected. The settings of both the movie and book were too different, like the conch shell was found in the bathing pool in the book but was found on the beach in the movie. The reason why it was important is because it changes where the conch was used and how it is described. In the book, the boys saw a ship pass, but in the movie, there was an airplane that passed instead of the ship. Instead of Ralph running into the water waving his hands, he ran onto a ridge waving his hands. The importance of getting mad at Jack was because he really cared about what happened and how to get off the island instead of going hunting because a crisis was about to occur later on throughout the story. When they were playing the pig hunting game right before they actually went hunting, Ralph played the pig in the book. When he did it foreshadowed Simons death, unlike it did in the movie. They were getting ready to go hunt for the beast and they thought that Simon was it but he had just figured out what it really was when he died. Roger was a bully in the “Lord ...
