...of the sun still goes through the windows making you use the air-con to it’s full power so that the heat of the sun will be negated. By that, your consumption of electricity increases resulting to a very large amount in your electricity bills. Now, many people knew that already so they use curtains to block the sun. But since most people want to see the view beyond their windows without having to feel the heat, we thought that if we tint the windows, we would be able to reduce the heat coming from the sun. In this experiment, we would use the following materials to tint the windows: plastic cover, transparent paper (for the overhead projector), and cellophane. After tinting different windows with each material, we would try to see which one is the most effective to resist the heat of the sun. Statement of the Problem “Which of the following materials to tint the windows would be the most effective to resist the heat of the sun – plastic cover, transparent paper or cellophane?” Significance of the Study We know that there is always an increase in the price per kilowatt of electricity. We use this electricity in our air-conditioning system. To be able to achieve comfort in our rooms, the air-con must decrease the temperature. If the surroundings of the room is very hot, it will make the inside of the room very hot also thus leading you to use the air-con up to it’s maximum potential resulting to more consumption of electricity and increase in the bills. But by putting tint on the windows, we will be able to reduce the heat coming in. With that, the air-con’s work will be lessened thus making us save more money. Scopes and L...
