In October of 2001, while America was still devastated from the 9/11 attacks Bush decided to go into Afghanistan and dismantle the Taliban. After countless bombing raids on enemy caves and hideouts, the Taliban fell apart and led the way to a democratic Afghanistan. In December of 2001, an interim government was set up to keep Afghanistan stable. Democracy was quickly instituted but Osama Bin Laden still hasn’t been caught. After a quick victory in 2001 over the Taliban C.I.A. received intelligence that suggested that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. Bush decided to invade Iraq in March of 2003 and within 2 months they were in Baghdad. There have been over 1800 casualties in Iraq not from the actual war but from the insurgent attacks on the soldiers. There have been many protests because of this and Bush’s unwillingness to pull out. One that has been noted a lot recently is that of Cindy Sheehan whose son died in Iraq. Protests are sprouting up everywhere. People who were once onboard with Bush are now protesting him. Some of these protests are turning violent and out of control. The war in Iraq isn’t the only cause of these protests, high gas prices are driving up prices of everything from meat to lumber, while salaries stay the same. In July...
