Adolescents should be given the same punishment as grown-ups for commiting a crime

And then the learning happened in both body and soul, it was not merely oriented to change behaviours and create submissive citizens. A strong punishment can thus help to strengthen the character. Another important factor to bear in mind is the role of parents in our globalized world. Parents have been taken away critical functions that in the past they performed, such as education, health care and entertainment. Teenagers have the same access to information as grown-ups and they are considered free to make decisions of their own. Then, are teenagers innocent victims of negligent parents and violent TV?
