The Integumentary System
This system consists of the skin and associated hairs, nails and exocrine glands [Martini, 2001.] So in relation to the reproduction system, skin covers and protects the exposed genitalia of both the male and female, and also enables sexual stimulation. ... Also some of the reproductive hormones affect the integumentary system. They can affect placement of body hair and the deposition of body fat. ... ]
The Muscular System
There are three main types of muscle in the human body. These are skeletal muscle – which is usually attached in some way to bone, and is responsible for support and movement; smooth muscle – usually surrounds hollow organs or tubes (eg: the Stomach) and is controlled by the autonomic nervous system; and cardiac muscle – is the muscle of the heart and is responsible for the contractions which pump oxygenated blood around the body [Vander, Sherman, Luciano 1990.] So in the reproduction system, contractions of skeletal muscle help enable the male to eject semen as well as providing ‘pleasurable sensations’ in both the male and female during intercourse.
