Deep Filling: Grind large indentations back to bare metal and fill with plastic putty. Sand it back etc. Priming: Apply two or more coats of Acrylic Primer Surfacer to area to be repainted. Thin 1 part of primer to 1 part thinner. Allow to air dry for 20 mins or so before sanding. Filling: Fill surface imperfection with spot putty or spray putty. Apply putty only to previously painted surfaces. Use a low pressure spray gun for spray putty at an air pressure of around 200 kPa. Apply two the three coats, allowing short flash-off between coats, and allow to air dry 1 to 2 hours before sanding.
