... of the Dead's Zombies find a way to destroy the entire planet. In film, this is not meant to happen and as a result - send a large dose of reality to audiences making them uncomfortable. Although this is necessary, Hollywood in general will never be able to create films like this on a mainstream basis resulting in the fact that the bad guy, (no matter of cunning,) is doomed to fail. If they were allowed to succeed then the feeling uncertainty would force the mass of people who seek going to watch escapist type-movies to stay home. These are the very audience that provide the money that is needed in order to create big budget films. But it is crucial, however, that a genre where "evil" triumphs stays open al-be-it to very small audience. The ability to take the audience out of their comfort zone is an art...
