...ith. 2. As the movie progressed, the communication skills between all 5 students improved from being very poor to becoming friends. Once they let their guard down, it was easier for them to just be normal and act like themselves. For example, when they all sat in a circle, they became united. They shared personal information about themselves that added to the emotion of the film. Brian shared his dramatic story of wanting to commit suicide over not fulfilling an expectation of grades for woodshop class. Similarly, Andrew shares his feelings of inadequacy and his hate for his father who expects him to excel in sports. As they begin to trust each other more, the friendship grows and becomes stronger amongst them. 3. Human touch is essential to The Breakfast Club. Claire’s feelings of frustration and anger are obvious when she hits Bender after he insults her. This communicated that she was very angry and upset by his hurtful comments. A positive example would be when all 5 teenagers were dancing together on the tables. Their synchronized movements show that they were at peace and very comfortable with each other. When Allison allowed Claire to give her a makeover, it showed that they both trusted each other. The final example is when Claire kissed Bender on the neck. It showed that she liked him and was also attracted to him. Allison and Andrew kissed as well, which also showed their mutual liking for each other. 4. Bender (to Claire): You are so pathetic.
