Further research using stem cells would help identify causes and cures of diseases such as cancer and multiple sclerosis. But because of what some believe to be the inappropriate nature of the research it has also become a controversial issue, dividing the medical world as well as the political one. Another major issue for all Americans is energy conservation. With gas prices rising we all need to learn how to conserve our time as well as the precious resource, oil. Of course energy conservation also goes with pollution and our responsibility to stop the process for future generations. The outsourcing of jobs is also a serious issue in the U.S. With fewer jobs available for American citizens the economy has suffered in many states because of the lower income of a lot of families.
