We are talking about searching for hidden assumptions, noticing various facets, unraveling different strands, and evaluating what is most significant.” Basically critical thinking means to not favor one side or another during a situation but to thinking critically about what is right and what is wrong, to distinguish between them, and most importantly to be unbiased. Pitts article and “Critical Thinking” has one thing in common, which is telling the readers to be unbiased. In order to do that, one has to think critically. The ideas in “Critical Thinking” are pretty similar to Pitts’ message in his “Party allegiance, bias are swaying our opinions” article. Pitts said that people are biased when making decisions, their own believes are more important than facts. However, at the end of his article it revealed that his intention was to get people to not believe in what they want, but to believe in what is true. He said “Forget what you want to believe.
