...Europe in hopes to join the European Union. Until then, Europe had always had some prerequisite conditions toward Turkey. Turkey tried to meet the standarts that Europe was requesting from them but unable to meet these standarts. This year, Europe made clear that our participation in the Union has more importance than other countries. Also, it seems like Canada and USA have an agreement toward Europe, and for my opinion USA is hardly interested in our process – we can see it clearly from Georges Bushs’ statements in which he mentioned that our participation means a lot not only for Europe but for all the world.
