These viruses can be stopped from coming onto your computer if you install an anti-virus software e.g. Norton, McAfee etc. An anti-virus software detects viruses on your computer and removes them. As there are many new viruses being discovered or made you need to update your software regularly so that it will be able to remove them from your computer as well. If you use a floppy disk to save your work so that you can work with it at school or vice-versa then you should make sure that you get your disks checked for any viruses which might spread.
